Outback 2024 consists of one salon. The salon has six (5 for PSA) sections:

The payment method for this competition is PayPal. No other payment methods are offered. You do not need a PayPal account – you can use your credit card via the PayPal payment gateway.
Group Discount:
A group discount facility is available. A discount of 10% is available for groups of 10 or more entrants. The process works as follows:
1. One person acts as the group manager who makes a single payment to cover all members of the group. The group manager creates a group with a name and an access code.
To create a group name and access code the group manager follows the green Enter button on the home page, signs in, completes contact details, accepts the terms of entry, and then follows the blue Group Payments button.
On this page, they select the option to create a group, enter a group name and an access code, and then saves their group. A four-number code will suffice.
They then contact all prospective members of the group detailing the group name and access code.
The group manager does not have to enter the competition.
Each group member then follows the green Enter button, signs in, completes contact details, accepts terms, and then follows the blue Group Payments button.
They then select the group name in the Join a Group section of the page and enter the access code provided to them by their group manager.
They then proceed to the entry form and enter their images.
They will not be able to pay their entry fee as their group manager is responsible for making a single payment for the entire group.

Exhibition Requirements:
IMAGE AND ENTRY REQUIREMENTS: This exhibition is open to anyone; however, an entry may be rejected when the Sponsor or the Exhibition Organizers, in their reasonable discretion, believes the entry does not conform to exhibition rules and these ES-COE. Membership in any photographic organization is not required.
Entries will not be accepted from any entrant who is on the PSA Penalties List for Ethics Violation. Entry fees are not refundable in these circumstances.

Image creation and ownership
In all sections of the exhibition, images must originate as photographs made by the entrant. They may not incorporate identifiable images produced by anyone else (for example: clip art, replacement skies, or stock images). Images created in whole or in part by image creation software (frequently called ‘AI’ images) are not allowed. Editing or alteration of images is permitted within the limits specified in the relevant section definitions that are available here https://psa-photo.org/page/division-definitions
Any person submitting or attempting to submit a totally AI generated image that does not begin with a light capture from the maker, from any Photographic Society of America exhibition, social media, event, or publication, other than for editorial purposes, shall be prohibited from PSA for a period of from 3 years to life.
PSA Star Ratings: To receive proper Star ratings credit from PSA, entrants must provide their names and country exactly the same way in each exhibition. Aliases are not permitted. Please contact PSA in the event of name changes or relocating to another country. Using one’s name differently in different exhibition exposes the entrant to the risk that many of their acceptances may not be recognized by PSA Star Ratings.

Reproduction: The entrant permits the sponsors to reproduce all or part of the entered material free of charge for publication and/or display in media related to the exhibition. This may include low resolution posting on a website. The Photographic Society of America (PSA) may request specific permission from entrants to reproduce entered images in its educational materials. The terms of that permission will be mutually agreed between the entrant and PSA except in the circumstances where the entered image is found to breach the PSA Ethics Policy. In those circumstances the image may be reproduced by PSA, without the entrant’s further permission, for educational purposes to illustrate serious exhibition rule violations. For those reproductions, the entrant’s name will be withheld.
Entries will not be accepted from entrants who indicate that their images may not be reproduced in materials related to the exhibition. The exhibition assumes no liability of any misuse of copyright
Re-use of accepted images: Any image that has been accepted in this exhibition, past or present, may not be entered again in the same Division Star Ratings Class in any future instances of this exhibition. It may, of course, be entered in any other PSA recognised exhibitions but must always have the same title. Re-titling in another language is not allowed.
Entry: An Entry consists of, up to and including, four (4) images entered by a single entrant into the same Section. An entrant may only enter a specific Section once. Entrants may not enter identical or similar images into the same section or different sections of the same exhibition. Similar is defined as almost identical in subject, composition, props, lighting, or technique so that a reasonable person viewing the entries together would decide the entrant has duplicated the previous image except for minor changes.

Titles: Each image must have a unique title that relates to the content of the image. That unique title must be used for entry of that image or of an identical Image into any and all PSA-Recognized exhibitions. Titles must be 35 characters or fewer. No titles may be visible to the judges, and nothing in the image may identify the entrant. Titles may not include file extensions such as .jpg or .jpeg (or any other camera capture filenames such as IMG 471). Titles may not consist of personal identifiers possibly augmented by a number; or include words such as “untitled” or “no title”. Titles may not consist solely of numbers unless those numbers are prominently contained within the image, such as a contestant number in a race.
Color and Monochrome:
Color and Monochrome images from the same capture that share substantial pictorial content in common will be considered the same image and must be given the same title.
DIGITAL IMAGE REQUIREMENTS
This exhibition accepts electronic digital images only – no slides or prints. All entries are to be:
in sRGB .jpg format
maximum 3MB file size
maximum 1920 pixels horizontally, 1080 pixels vertically.
Note that portrait orientation images must still meet the 1080-pixel height limit. Images that exceed any of these maximums will be blocked during the online entry process.
Smaller images may be submitted – these will not be resized to meet the specified pixel limits and will appear smaller when projected for judging.
The upload software will use the name of your image automatically. Eg. The Red Boat.jpg becomes The Red Boat in the competition.
The Exhibition will be conducted in accordance with the rules of the PSA
An entrant’s images will not be presented to the judges consecutively. An entrant’s four images will be distributed throughout four rounds of judging in that section. Distribution of images will be in the same round order as submitted by the entrant. At no stage will a judge be able to view all the entrant’s images together.
JUDGING METHOD
Judging will be conducted online where the judges will be required to use colour-calibrated monitors that are capable of displaying 100% of the image resolution.
Where the image presented is lower than the maximum resolution the images will not be enlarged beyond their native resolution. At no stage will a judge be able to view all the entrant’s images together.
Each judge will score each image using a range of 1–9 where the higher score signifies a higher quality image. The total of these scores will be used to determine an acceptance percentage. Acceptance rates will not exceed FIAP and PSA’s requirements.

DATA PROTECTION
By entering this exhibition, you are explicitly consenting to the personal details you have supplied, including physical addresses, email addresses, being held, processed, and used by the exhibition organisers for purposes associated with this exhibition. You also explicitly consent to such information being sent to organisations that have accorded official recognition, patronage, or accreditation to this exhibition. You acknowledge, agree, and accept that by entering this exhibition, your participation status which includes your first and last name, name of the country used during registration at the exhibition, number of sections entered and number of photos entered in those sections will be made public in a published status list and that the results of your entry shall be made public in exhibition gallery, exhibition catalogue. You also agree and accept the policies regarding Breaches of Rules of the PSA and FIAP.
SUBJECT MATTER AND SECTION DEFINITIONS
Statement on Subject Matter – applicable to all sections
The fundamental rule that must be observed at all times and applies to all sections offered in exhibitions with PSA recognition is that the welfare of living creatures is more important than any photograph. This means that practices such as baiting of subjects with a living creature and removal of birds from nests, for the purpose of obtaining a photograph, are highly unethical, and such photographs are not allowed in any exhibition with PSA recognition. Under no circumstances may a living creature be placed in a situation where it will be killed, injured, or stressed for the purpose of obtaining a photograph. Images that show live creatures being fed to captive animals, birds or reptiles are not permitted under any circumstances.
There are also concerns about the use of aerial photography, drones, helicopters, low flying aircraft. These should not cause any interference with other individuals or animals which causes a disturbance in their normal activity or disrupts the way any individuals or animals interact with their environment. Entrants in PSA recognized exhibitions should comply with all relevant laws and regulations, associated with aerial photography, in the country in which the image was taken.
Entry into PSA recognized exhibitions is conditional on accepting these policies. The content of images must comply with the General Conditions and with the Division and Section definitions listed in these conditions. Images that – in the sole opinion of the judges or the Exhibition Organizers – do not comply, will be disqualified so the entrant may be aware of the problem when considering entry into other exhibitions with PSA recognition.

MONOCHROME DEFINITION
PSA Monochrome Definition
An image is considered to be Monochrome only if it gives the impression of having no colour (i.e: contains only shades of grey which can include pure black and pure white) OR it gives the impression of being a grayscale image that has been toned in one colour across the entire image. (For example, by Sepia, red, gold, etc.) A greyscale or multi-coloured image modified or giving the impression of having been modified by partial toning, multi-toning or by the inclusion of spot colouring does not meet the definition of monochrome and shall be classified as a Colour Work.
Greyscale Monochrome images may be entered for Nature, Photojournalism and Photo Travel but toned images are not permitted for these section.
Monochrome images may not be entered in color sections of PPD or PID.
FIAP Definition of Monochrome
A black and white work fitting from the very dark grey (black) to the very clear grey (white) is a monochrome work with the various shades of grey. A black and white work toned entirely in a single colour will remain a monochrome work able to stand in the black and white category; such a work can be reproduced in black and white in the catalogue of a salon under FIAP Patronage. On the other hand, a black and white work modified by a partial toning or by the addition of one colour becomes a colour work (polychrome) to stand in the colour category; such a work requires colour reproduction in the catalogue of a salon under FIAP Patronage.
Greyscale Monochrome images may be entered for Nature, Photojournalism and Photo Travel but toned images are not permitted for these sections.

COLOUR OPEN SECTION
This section accepts all images which do not meet the definitions of monochrome above.

PEOPLE/PORTRAITS (COLOUR) SECTION
A photograph of a person or persons that may range from a head study to full body length. This section includes candid photographs showing us people in all situations, such as daily life, street photography, traditions, portraits, people at work, social events, human relations. etc. The main subject in the photo must be one or more humans.

LANDSCAPE (COLOUR) SECTION
This section accepts all colour images that depict an expanse of scenery, of land, that can be seen in a single view, water and manmade objects may be present but must not dominate the scene.

Reflecting the human presence in our world.
The journalistic (story-telling) value of the image should receive priority over pictorial quality.
Images that misrepresent the truth, such as those from events or activities arranged specifically for photography, or of subjects directed or hired for photography, are not eligible.
Editing Guidelines
Processing or editing must be limited to making the image look as close to the original scene as possible.
Allowed editing techniques:
Cropping, straightening and perspective correction.
Removal or correction of elements added by the camera or lens, such as dust spots, noise, chromatic aberration and lens distortion.
Global and selective adjustments such as brightness, hue, saturation and contrast to restore the appearance of the original scene.
Complete conversion of color images to grayscale monochrome.
Blending of multiple images of the same subject and combining them in camera or with software (exposure blending or focus stacking);
Image stitching – combining multiple images with overlapping fields of view that are taken consecutively (panoramas);
Editing techniques that are not allowed:
Removing, adding to, moving or changing any part of an image, except for cropping and straightening.
Adding a vignette during processing.
Blurring parts of the image during processing to hide elements in the original scene.
Darkening parts of the image during processing to hide elements in the original scene.
All conversions other than to complete grayscale monochrome.
Conversion of parts of an image to monochrome, or partial toning, desaturation or over-saturation of colour.
If, in the discretion of the exhibition organizer or the judges, an entrant has submitted that may fail to comply with these Conditions of Entry, they are allowed to request unedited or raw files of the submitted image. For composite images all files are required.
Exhibition organizers may verify that:
the images are the original work of the entrant
the images comply with the rules and definitions as set out in these ES-COE
Such entries may be referred to PSA for further investigation of possible ethics violations. EXHIBITION STANDARDS Conditions of Entry Instructions for all 2024 Exhibitions Revised Sept 12, 2023 Page 12 PSA retains the right to investigate all complaints, impose penalties if deemed necessary, void the acceptances of any image found to violate the PSA rules, include the entrant’s name on the list of sanctions provided to Exhibitions, and share such investigations with FIAP. Entrants automatically agree to these terms by the act of entering the Exhibition and agree to cooperate with any investigation.
If another party is processing and/or submitting images on the entrant’s behalf, the entrant will still be held responsible for adhering to the entry rules and will be subject to penalties for any violations to these Conditions of Entry or to PSA’s Statement of Ethics.
PSA NOTICE:
When entrants fill in the Entry Form to submit an entry, they will see the following feature to affirm they have read these Conditions of Entry
By the sole act of submitting his/her images or files to a salon under FIAP Patronage, the entrant accepts without exception and with no objection the following terms:
that the submitted images can be investigated by FIAP to establish if these obey to FIAP regulations and definitions even if the entrant is not a member of FIAP,
that FIAP will use any means at its disposal for this undertaking
that any refusal to cooperate with FIAP or any refusal to submit the original files as captured by the camera, or failure to provide sufficient evidence, will result in them being sanctioned by FIAP,
that in case of sanctions following the non-compliance with FIAP regulations, the name of the entrant will be released in any form useful to inform other parties of the entrant’s breaches of the rules.
Concerning entries that originated as digital photographs, authors must preserve intact with no alteration, the original metadata of images.
Any entrant, whose image shows anything suspicious in regard to compliance with FIAP regulations or definitions, can be asked by the organiser or by FIAP, to submit the original capture file (file containing the data recorded by the sensor; ie: the RAW or the original unretouched JPEG files) plus the file of the images immediately before and immediately following the questionable image. If the entrant fails to provide what is required, he/she can be sanctioned.

Each entrant to FIAP salons must observe the rules of FIAP and conform to the regulations of documents:

During the entry process all entrants will be required to tick a box to agree to the following statement.
“I hereby expressly agree to FIAP Document 040/2023 Conditions and regulations for FIAP Patronage and FIAP document 038/2023 E « Sanctions for breaching FIAP regulations and the red list ». I am particularly aware of chapter II « Regulations for International photographic events under FIAP patronage » of FIAP document 040/2023, dealing under Section II.2 and II.3 with the FIAP participation rules, the sanctions for breaching FIAP regulations and the red list.
Failure to agree will mean that the entry will not proceed.
SALON STATEMENT:
If, at any time, it is determined in the reasonable discretion of the exhibition organiser or the judges before, during, or after the judging of an exhibition that an entrant has submitted entries where one or more images may fail to comply with these Conditions of Entry, including the stated definitions, the exhibition organisers reserve the right to delete the entry from the exhibition and void any or all acceptances or awards in connection with the exhibition. Fees may be forfeited or refunded in these circumstances. The entrant acknowledges that the decision of the exhibition organisers or the judges is final.

APS Conditions of entry
By submitting images to this exhibition in either print or digital form. I agree to accept without exception or objection the following terms:
To ensure that images comply with the Conditions of Entry, including all relevant definitions, the exhibition organisers may ask me to provide originally captured images, with EXIF data intact, by a specified deadline.
If I do not supply the requested image(s) in the specified time those images will be deemed to be in breach of the Conditions of Entry.
Images that are submitted as requested may be investigated by any means determined appropriate by the exhibition organisers to establish if the image(s) comply with the conditions of entry.
Images that are deemed by the exhibition organisers to breach the Conditions of Entry will be removed from the exhibition. Any acceptances or awards allocated to those images will become void.
The exhibition organizers will provide APS with details of all breaches of the Conditions of Entry. APS retains the right to impose sanctions on entrants deemed to have repeatedly breached the Conditions of Entry of any APS Approved exhibition.
By virtue of submitting an entry, the entrant certifies the work as his/her own (aliases are not permitted).
By submitting an entry, the entrant certifies that in the process of capturing the image the entrant did not violate any of the standards of ethical practice of FIAP, PSA, GPU or APS.
Titles must use the English alphabet and can contain no more than 35 characters (including spaces). Image titles may be in a foreign language, but the English alphabet must be used.
The titles of entries should be exactly as you want them to appear in the catalogue.
No title or identification of the maker shall be visible anywhere on the image or the title.
Titles will not be announced at judging.
Entrants automatically agree to these terms by the act of entering the Exhibition.

On the other hand, a black and white work modified by a partial toning or by the addition of one colour becomes a colour work (polychrome) to stand in the colour category; such a work requires colour reproduction in the catalogue of a salon under FIAP Patronage.

This section accepts all images which do not meet the definitions of monochrome above.
PEOPLE/PORTRAITS (COLOUR) SECTION
A photograph of a person or persons that may range from a head study to full body length. This section includes candid photographs showing us people in all situations, such as daily life, street photography, traditions, portraits, people at work, social events, human relations. etc. The main subject in the photo must be one or more humans.
Attention is drawn to the PSA Statements on Artificial Intelligence and Subject Matter.
Due to social sensitivities images containing nudes will not be accepted into this salon.
LANDSCAPE (COLOUR) SECTION
This section accepts all colour images that depict an expanse of scenery, of land, that can be seen in a single view. Water and manmade objects may be present but must not dominate the scene.

PHOTOJOURNALISM
Definition of Photojournalism
Photojournalism entries are images with informative content and emotional impact, reflecting the human presence in our world.
Content Guidelines
The journalistic (story-telling) value of the image should receive priority over pictorial quality.
Images that misrepresent the truth, such as those from events or activities arranged specifically for photography, or of subjects directed or hired for photography, are not eligible.
When Human Interest is specified, those images depict a person or persons in an interactive, emotional or unusual situation, excluding sports action.
Editing Guidelines
Processing or editing must be limited to making the image look as close to the original scene as possible.
Allowed editing techniques:
Cropping, straightening and perspective correction.
Removal or correction of elements added by the camera or lens, such as dust spots, noise, chromatic aberration and lens distortion.
Global and selective adjustments such as brightness, hue, saturation and contrast to restore the appearance of the original scene.
Complete conversion of color images to grayscale monochrome.
Blending of multiple images of the same subject and combining them in camera or with software (exposure blending or focus stacking);
Image stitching – combining multiple images with overlapping fields of view that are taken consecutively (panoramas);
Editing techniques that are not allowed:
Removing, adding to, moving or changing any part of an image, except for cropping and straightening.
Adding a vignette during processing.
Blurring parts of the image during processing to hide elements in the original scene.
Darkening parts of the image during processing to hide elements in the original scene.
All conversions other than to complete grayscale monochrome.
Conversion of parts of an image to monochrome, or partial toning, desaturation or over-saturation of colour.

Group Discount:
A group discount facility is available. A discount of 10% is available for groups of 10 or more entrants. The process works as follows:
1. One person acts as the group manager who makes a single payment to cover all members of the group. The group manager creates a group with a name and an access code.
To create a group name and access code the group manager follows the green Enter button on the home page, signs in, completes contact details, accepts the terms of entry, and then follows the blue Group Payments button.
On this page, they select the option to create a group, enter a group name and an access code, and then saves their group. A four-number code will suffice.
They then contact all prospective members of the group detailing the group name and access code.
The group manager does not have to enter the competition.
Each group member then follows the green Enter button, signs in, completes contact details, accepts terms, and then follows the blue Group Payments button.
They then select the group name in the Join a Group section of the page and enter the access code provided to them by their group manager.
They then proceed to the entry form and enter their images.
They will not be able to pay their entry fee as their group manager is responsible for making a single payment for the entire group.

Judging

Digital Judging:
Judging will be conducted online where the judges will be required to use colour-calibrated monitors that are capable of displaying 100% of the image resolution.
Where the image presented is lower than the maximum resolution the images will not be enlarged beyond their native resolution. At no stage will a judge be able to view all the entrant’s images together.
Each judge will score each image using a range of 1 – 9 where the higher score signifies a higher quality image. The total of these scores will be used to determine an acceptance percentage. Acceptance range 25% – 30%.

Barbara Schmidt, a retired graduate in administration, was born and still lives in the Ruhr area, North Rhine-Westphalia, in Germany. Since May 2014, she has been photographing as a self-taught photographer with her Fuji XT 2, taking pictures of anything that catches her interest, but with a preference for modern architecture.
Since the 1st acceptance on 21.03.2016 at the German International DVF Photo Cup, Barbara received 13.000 acceptances with more than 1200 Honorable Mentions and 600 Medals in International competitions alone.
In the German Photography Association DVF she holds the title Excellence Artist of the DVF and in all renowned international associations she holds high titles.
Since 2020 Barbara has been a juror in more than 100 international competitions.
Luis Franke: MFIAP, EFIAP/d3, HonEFIAP, MFAF, EFAF/p, GMPSA/b, FAPU, Honorary Member Photo Club Elema (Skopje – Macedonia)
Born in Villa Ballester, Argentina, in 1963. Electronic technician and Industrial Engineer, amateur photographer. Particularly interested in travel photography, nature, rural activities and reports. Since 1988 he travels through Southern Patagonia Argentina, having made photographic reports in many rural farms in that southern region. His photographs show the natural landscapes, the people, and especially the rural life of the large southern farms.
In 2002 he joined the “Grupo Fotográfico Parque” (Buenos Aires), a photo club member of the Argentine Federation of Photography (FAF). Since then he has participated in national and international photography exhibitions, having obtained more than 15,000 acceptances and 2,700 awards in more than 60 countries.
Between 2003 and 2014 it obtained 22 first places in the annual classification compiled by the Argentine Federation of Photography in different sections including the overall classification in 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2013 and 2014.
Awarded the FIAP “Best of the Best” trophy, as best author in two consecutive years, 2012 and 2013.
He has been included in the “Top Worldwide Exhibitors” of the “Who´s Who in Photography” compiled by the Photographic Society of America (PSA) for many years. including the first places in Photo-Travel (2007, 2009, 2010, 2011 and 2012) and in Nature (2009).
In 2014 he was appointed FIAP Liaison Officer of the Argentine Federation of Photography and from 2017 he is a member of the FIAP Board of Directors and the FIAP Biennials Service Director.
He has exhibited his work in numerous countries around the world. He acts as a jury in National and International Exhibitions of Photography Art. Co-author of the book “Encuadres de un oasis y un desierto”, with more than 250 photographs of the Cardiel Lake area in Southern Patagonia, Argentina, and “Laguna Blanca” with 200 photographs, many of them from above, of this agricultural farm in the province of Entre Ríos.
Mario Mirabile: GMAPS, EFIAP, SSVAPS
Mario Mirabile is an enthusiast photographer who has been involved in the art since the early eighties. He enjoys many styles of photography but draws his inspiration primarily from the urban environment, and pre-pandemic spent a lot of time roaming the streets and laneways of Melbourne. He has a liking for uncluttered graphic compositions but is happy to work with whatever the situation throws at him. He also enjoys leaving the confines of the city and chasing landscapes and nature.
Mario is an active member of the Caulfield Photographic Society, the Australian Photographic Society and the Australian Photographic Judges Association.

Robert Lie is a photographer and international awards winner from Indonesia. His winning photos and articles have been published in National Geographic Traveller Indonesia & USA magazine, Asian Geographic, Forbes, Vogue Thailand, NTV Germany, Bored Panda.
He was a guest speaker in Kuala Lumpur Photography Festival 2020, Uni Emirate Arab’s Contemporary Photography Festival 2018, Leica Webinar 2020 and photography guest lecturer in Amity University Dubai in 2020.
He was selected as International Selected Artist in Exposure Photography Festival in Alberta Canada 2020 and his self published photo book Malacca Rhapsody was exhibited in the 2nd Jakarta International Photo Festival 2021. Malacca Rhapsody won Bronze medal in PX3 Paris Photo Prize and became selected book in Italia’s Urban Photo Awards 2022. He won Pangea Gold Prize in Siena Awards 2020.
With his 18 photography distinctions, he was invited as one of jury members in more than 50 International photography salons. He is selected as Grand Jury member of the prestigious New York Photography Awards 2022. He just won 1st Place in Still Life in Iphone Photo Awards 2023
His first photography exhibition was held by Leica Indonesia in Jakarta in 2017 and followed by other exhibitions across Indonesia, South Korea, Canada, Malaysia, Singapore, Italy, Vienna, Iran, Mexico, USA, Bangladesh, Dubai, Myanmar, India and Sweden.
Paul Stanley: FIPF, EFIAP/p, ESFIAP
Paul has been interested in photography since his school days. He is an active member of the Dublin Camera Club for many years and was honoured to be elected President of the club in February 2021, the term of which ran until March 2023. This coincided with 75th Anniversary of the foundation of the club.
In addition, Paul is the Director of the Eddie Chandler Gallery, which is a FIAP Exhibition Centre, which is run by the Dublin Camera Club.
Paul is also a committee member of the Irish Photographic Federation, past president of the Federation and is currently the FIAP Liaison Officer for Ireland.
Paul was part of the group that established the FIAP Photo Academy Online Events in September 2020 and is currently the Director of this FIAP service.
Paul is a keen exhibitor at International Salons and has gained EFIAP/p. He was also honoured to be awarded the ESFIAP distinction by the FIAP Board of Directors in recognition for his work in promoting photography worldwide.
Paul gained his Fellowship of the Irish Photographic Federation with a panel of Travel Photography in 2013. Paul has presented to clubs throughout Ireland and in the UK and judges extensively in Ireland and internationally.
Helen Hanafin: FIPF, EFIAP/p
Helen has been active in photography since the mid-1990s. She is an active member of the Dublin Camera Club.
Helen has achieved the Fellowship of the Irish Photographic Federation with a panel of images showing the people of Nepal. She is now a member of the Irish Photographic Federation Distinctions Assessment Panel.
Helen is a keen exhibitor at International Salons and has gained EFIAP/p. Helen has presented to clubs throughout Ireland and internationally and judges extensively in Ireland and internationally.
Elizabeth Passuello: (Emergency Judge )APSA, EPSA, EFIAP, FPSNZ, FNPSNZ APSEM
Elizabeth has been involved in photography for 37 years. She is a Life Member and Patron of the Greymouth Photography Club in New Zealand, Editor of their monthly newsletter and a Website Administrator for their club website.
Elizabeth also volunteers outside of New Zealand as a Verifying Officer with the Australian Photographic Society and a Star Ratings Coordinator/Director with the Photographic Society of America. In 2020 she was a recipient of a Photographic Society of America Service Award.
Elizabeth has been entering photography exhibitions both in New Zealand and internationally for decades, from which she has won numerous awards, particularly in nature and photojournalism. She has been a PSNZ-accredited judge since 1995, judging from club level through to international exhibitions.
Bronwen has been a successful entrant in international photographic exhibitions since entering her first international competition in 2000. Since this time Bronwen has amassed many acceptances all over the world, including multiple international awards. Whilst being successful in most sections, she has had a long standing interest in photography of people, encompassing portraiture, social documentary and stage images. She has also enjoyed working with Creative imagery and, in more recent years, has been enjoying nature and landscape photography, gaining further awards in these genres.
Being a passionate supporter of print exhibitions, nearly all of her first decade of entries were in print salons. She was awarded her Master of the Australian Photographic Society (MAPS) skill honour, via panel assessment with prints in 2008 and her EFIAP in 2009. Then after a long break from entering salons in earnest, she resumed in late 2018 to work through the EFIAP Levels gaining her EFIAP Platinum in 2023.
Bronwen has judged on many occasions for Clubs, Nationals and International Exhibitions. She also spent four years on the organising committee for the VIGEX International Photographic Salon, a print salon, including 3 years as their Vice President. As a member of the Australian Photographic Society (APS), she has served in many roles over many years and is currently Australia’s FIAP Liaison Officer, a role to which she was appointed in 2017. In December 2019, the International Federation of Photographic Art (FIAP) appointed Bronwen as FIAP Director of FIAP’s official magazine, FIAP News, a role she continues to this day. In 2022, the APS awarded Bronwen their Exceptional Service to APS Honour (ESAPS) and FIAP also awarded Bronwen their Excellence FIAP for Services Rendered (ESFIAP) Distinction.
A strong believer in photography as an art form, Bronwen values both highly creative imagery as well as truthful, pure captures. When she judges, Bronwen loves to see images that are unique with the maker’s own artistic interpretation, and images that stimulate visually and mentally to evoke an emotive reaction in the viewer. Bronwen believes that participation in international competitions results in exposure to a world of incredible images, touched by culture, location, world events and the wonders of nature. It has broadened the way she approaches photography and is a path she has encouraged many other photographers to take.
